DAISY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Daisy  Best Guess for Breed: Dachshund mix

Best Guess for Age: 2 years     SEX:  female

Approximate Weight: 15 lbs.

Has Lived With: other dogs

Currently Living at the shelter, Daisy needs a foster and a forever home.

Great things can come in small packages and the proof of that is Daisy! Even though she weights just 15 lbs. Daisy is ready to take on the world! Traveling to DC to find a new home is not something scary to her; it's the best adventure she has ever been on. Now all that's missing is a home where Daisy can settle in once and for all with people who love her.

If you are looking for a small, outgoing young dog who can would love to travel everywhere with you then definitely check out little Miss Daisy. She can't wait to meet you.

Daisy would be happy with canine siblings or as an only dog. It's her people that Daisy really wants attention from. Someone to take her on long walks or trips to the dog park. Don't let her size fool you because Daisy can hold her own with the bigger dogs. Her legs may be short but this girl will need daily exercise to burn off that hound dog energy.

Some things to know about Dachshunds: they are friendly but also have an independent streak so start training early. They have a big dog attitude with a strong bark to match. Having been bred to burrow underground to fight badgers they love to dig, whether it's outside in your garden or through that pile of clothes you were getting ready to wash. They will amuse you with their antics and bring smiles to the faces of your neighbors when they hustle down the street on those little legs.

Like most shelter dogs, Daisy may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. Daisy gets along well with other dogs but has not yet been tested with cats or kids.

The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our
Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at [email protected]!
